On March 22, 2020 at approximately 10:57 PM officers of the Farmersville Police Department were dispatched to Visalia Rd. and Virginia St. for a report of a single vehicle traffic accident. Upon arrival officers found that a vehicle that appeared to have been traveling westbound on Visalia Rd. approaching S. Virginia failed to merge into the westbound lane as it goes from two lanes to one lane at Virginia St. and that this resulting in the vehicle colliding into the wooden barricade and then into the rear end of a semi-truck’s flatbed trailer that was parked on the north dirt shoulder of Visalia Rd. The vehicle was a 2005 Nissan Murano and it sustained major front-end damage. The lone occupant of the vehicle, an adult male, was determined to be deceased at the scene. Witnesses reported the vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed as it approached the barricade. No other vehicles were involved in this accident aside from the parked semi-truck and flatbed trailer. No further information is available at this time.
